ShowbizIT’S ANOTHER BUSY SEASON for popular band Aegis. The legends behind the classic “Luha” and “Halik” had been criss-crossing continents and they hit Sydney this month. “Malamig! But I love it this way, it’s our first time to do a show here,” lead singer Juliet Sonot told newsPinoy. They landed in Sydney just after finishing a six-city concert tour across the US. They flew back to Manila and then flew for Oz.Their concert was held in Bankstown organised by the Manila Sydney Entertainment.Local performers like the young Chelsea Castillo joined the show.From Oz, the band headed back to Manila for a short break but then they will be flying for shows in Europe soon. Their gigs remain to be among the most sought after shows by Pinoy communities around the world.Their show in New South Wales proved a treat to many Pinoys. It was a treat for them too as they enjoyed the scenic surroundings and the cool weather. “I had long wanted to visit Australia and finally we had this chance.,” said Stella Galindo.The band is composed of Juliet and Mercy Sunot, Stella, Vilma Goloviogo, Rowena ‘Weng’ Pinpin and Rey Abenoja, the only male member of the band. Their concert in Bankstown was joined by the Kakulay Band, the rising local singing sensation Chelsea Castillo, and Jena Navarro Gigante. The show is organised by Manila Sydney Entertainment.Out of the concert circuit, the band is set to launch their latest CD album this month. The album features English songs including their own rendition of a Beyonce piece.The album will be introduced over TV show ASAP later this month.The band is indefatigable. They’re still a class act. Two decades on and they’re doing good. One successful concert is followed by another, and more great albums are coming. Their music don’t seem to age - neither do they. What’s their secret to keep themselves as energetic like the younger bands? “Smile ... basta palagi kang nakangiti, hindi ka tatanda!” exclaimed Juliet.
